I was in desperate need of a little shinrin-yoku and a quick trip up the Poudre River Canyon, and over Cameron Pass to Lake Agnes sounded like the ideal destination. The early morning departure required a little greasy-spoon-sustenance at Vern’s Place. After some huevos rancheros and a little over-caffeination, the day began with a saturated sunrise that was a perfect start to a day of well-needed nature therapy. Warm weather at the base of the canyon proved misleading to the fresh snow and untracked conditions up high. The skin and solitude up to Agnes Cabin was exactly what I hoped for as the Never Summer Range rarely disappoints. A picture-perfect day in the Rocky Mountains concluded with a cold beverage and a little conversation at the world famous Mishawaka Amphitheatre. The short road trip home had my mind pondering where my next forest bathing adventure would take me.
