Senior Session Guide1. Poudre River
Fort Collins is fortunate to have the Cache la Poudre, the state’s only Wild and Scenic River flowing right through city limits. With multiple locations along the Poudre River Trail and up the canyon towards The Mishawaka Amphitheatre, family photography along the Poudre River can be stunning.
2. Horsetooth Reservoir
One of Fort Collins’ most popular landmarks is Horsetooth Reservoir. If you’ve ever spent an evening watching the sun go down over the water you’ll know why! There are some gorgeous overlooks that highlight the length of the water and the dramatic rock formations. There is no better place in Northern Colorado for a family photography session, engagement photos, or high school senior portraits than Horsetooth at sunset.
3. Old Town Fort Collins
There is a reason why Disneylands’ Main Street USA was inspired by downtown Fort Collins. With the historical architecture, renovated back alleys and contemporary murals, Old Town Fort Collins has so much character. It’s the ideal spot for any family looking for an urban, contemporary feel to their family photos
4. CSU Oval
There are few places in Fort Collins that are more photogenic than the Oval on the Colorado State campus. With the giant elm trees lining the center of the Oval and the historic Administration Building on the south end, the CSU Oval is a phenomenal place for family photos, engagements shoots and high school senior portraits.
5. City Park
City Park in the heart of Fort Collins is a beautiful area with lush green grass and tall trees. This park is great if you have young kids and you want to get some photojournalistic images of them playing on the playground. Also, its a great spot if you have a furry friend you want to incorporate into the shoot.
