In 2016 I had the extraordinary opportunity to guide a group of students on an expedition to the Sacred Valley of Peru. It was a phenomenal opportunity and I will never forget hiking the Inca Trail, reaching the Sun Gate, and watching the clouds dissipate over Machu Picchu. It is a destination, and a setting, unlike any other. I just returned from my second expedition to Peru, again with a group of students from No Barriers. A lot has changed in the three short years since my last visit but the rich history of Incas, the creative mouth-watering cuisine, and the towering peaks of the Andes are still the same. I’m not sure if I’ll get back to Peru again, but I’m beyond grateful that I got to see it twice.
